The Elms Hotel in Worcestershire, part of the von Essen Family Set, has been awarded the AA Strawberry Award for sourcing more than half of its food locally.
The AA only award the Strawberry mark to those establishments that source over 50 per cent of their food from local and regional sources within a fifty mile radius, and champion this fact with clear marketing on their menus and through the training of their staff. The Elms fulfilled all of these criteria, including the pre-requisite of at least one AA Rosette.
To celebrate the award, The Elms hotel have created a special strawberry menu that will run until the end of the strawberry season in late September. They have also printed information about British strawberries in guest rooms and public areas to educate their guests on the importance of sourcing food locally.
