NASA vending machine dispenses hot meals in 90 seconds
A vending machine that can reheat meals in 90 seconds has been launched in the UK, aimed directly at helping hotels provide hot food all day

A new vending machine launched in the UK that heats and dispenses frozen ready meals in just 90 seconds, could provide hotels with the option to serve quality hot food to its guests all day.

The vendor works by blending a rotating stock freezer with a high-speed combination oven in one unit, and by using NASA technology, the unit can circulate air at jet speed, allowing heat transfer of up to 60 times that of a regular oven.

Brasserie claim that the speedy reheating process in no way compromises the quality of the food, which can range from a full English breakfast, pizzas and chips, to pasties and slices and a range of healthier options. They also claim the oven can brown, bake and crisp the food when needed.

Since its arrival in the UK, the vendor has been installed in two Express by Holiday Inn hotels. Clive Nicholls, Operations Director of Castle Bromwich Holiday Inn Express, said: "We are always looking for ways to improve the service we provide our guests to ensure that we are their preferred choice. Since installing the Brasserie Express UK service we are now able to offer our guests a quality hot food option 24/7. This combined to other service initiatives has contributed to an increase in occupancy.”

Brasserie offers a full range of services, from food products and frozen storage to filling, cash collection and technical support, and attend to the vendors using their own staff, meaning hotels needn’t worry about forking out themselves to be able to offer their guests hot meals all day, even after the chefs have gone home.
