Guoman Hotels have announced the appointment of a new General Manager to run operations at their central London Hotel The Tower.

Andrew Coney (pictured, right) joins the team at The Tower after previous experience as GM for Slaley Hall in Northumberland, Le Meridien Waldorf, and The Cavendish Hotel in London.

Coney will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the hotel, and will be directly accountable to Guoman Chief Operating Officer Sanjay Nijhawan.

“Andrew brings a wealth of high-end hospitality experience with major hotel brands,” said Nijhawan. “He will be an integral driving force behind the development and refurbishment plans for The Tower. We are very happy to have Andrew on board.”

The Woolley Grange Hotel in Wiltshire also welcomes on board a new male nanny for their Woolley Bears Den play area for young children.

Steven King, dubbed as the hotel’s new ‘manny’, will be responsible for the entertainment and care of children staying at the hotel over weekends and during school holidays now that the summer is over.

Clare Hammond, General Manager of Woolley Grange said: "What better than to have a `manny` in the den. Who could be better at setting up a race track, building Lego space ships or running an arts and crafts session than a boy!"
