Square Pie re-opens with charity in mind

Martin Dewy`s gourmet pie shop, Square Pie will re-open in Spitalfields on October 1 following a grand scale refurbishment to the market.
The stall was closed in July 2007 for work to be done to the Victorian market building and will return as a brand new shop.
Square Pie Managing Director Martin Dewy said: “It’s brilliant to be coming back to Spitalfields after a year away. It’s always been a very special place for me as this is where the pie dream began. We’re looking forward to stoking up the ovens and getting the peas on the go again.”
To celebrate its return, Square Pie has pledged to donate 25p from each Monthly Special sold in all outlets during October to the charity, Action Against Hunger, which is running its Restaurants Against Hunger campaign during October.
Since re-opening this summer, Spitalfields has welcomed a host of new restaurants including Wagamama, La Tasca, the Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Las Iguanas.
