Seasoned Skewers spice up profits
Innovative skewers flavoured with natural ingredients create exciting, easy-to-season dishes

An innovative product straight from the US may revolutionise the way chefs season and flavour dishes, all from the help of a single skewer-like wooden stick.

Distributed in the UK by The Buddha Brunch, Seasoned Skewers are a hassle-free way of marinating meat, fish, vegetables and fruit from the inside out. Each stick is coated in a variety of complimentary ingredients, such as lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves and galangal for the Thai Coconut Lime flavour, and can be used to season dishes by inserting directly into meats, dropping into sauces, and spearing cubes of vegetables to form kebabs.

Made of untreated birch wood and carrying no artificial colours, preservatives or flavours, the savoury skewers come in eight varieties of either six or ten inches, including Citrus Rosemary, Garlic Herb, Honey Bourbon, Mexican Fiesta and Indian Mango Curry.

Rebecca Cardozo, The Buddha Brunch MD, said: “The six inch skewer is popularly used to prepare and serve a starter, offering an interesting and profitable menu option. Caterers have also used the skewers to present food and one top hotel is currently serving a meatball on the end of the six inch skewer as a ‘savoury lollipop’.”

In addition, the Buddha Brunch also distributes two flavours of Fruit Stickles, Tropical, and Cinnamon, designed with children in mind. The curved design of the short skewers makes them perfect for spearing a variety of fruit to make obtaining the recommended five fruit and vegetables a day fun.
