“I am leaving Leon to develop menus and drive the reputation of Blackmore’s to new heights, leaving me to look at new projects and take a well earned back seat for a while!”

Meanwhile. Von Essen has also appointed a new Head Chef for its Mount Somerset Hotel, part of the groups Country Set, which already holds two AA rosettes.

Stephen Walker joins the team with 20 years of experience in the hotel and hospitality industry, having spent time at the Stonehouse Court Hotel in Gloucestershire, the Swan in Bilbury and Manor House in Morten in the Marsh.

Joining Theo Randall’s eponymous restaurant at the Intercontinental is Alison Stubberfield as the site`s new Restaurant Manager. Fresh from a position of General Manager of Bentley’s Oyster Bar and Grill, Stubberfield will now run the 124 cover restaurant while working closely with the celebrity chef.

Randall said: “I am very pleased to have Alison heading the floor team at Theo Randall. She joins at a really exciting time for the restaurant and I am confident that she will be integral to achieving even greater success in the months to come”
