Ed’s Easy Diner says it is looking to expand the number of outlets it owns over the next three years, quashing rumours that it is looking to sell the business.
Operations Director Tim Bennett said the company had experienced a successful year’s trading and was not looking to sell its sites in Soho, Trocadero and Bluewater as reported earlier this week.
He said: “Our price point into the market makes us affordable and good value for money. Combined with our unique offer, the business has thrived this past year.
“Technically Ed`s could be perceived to be on the market, however, rather than looking to sell the business, we are actually looking to raise investment in order to allow for the opening of new sites.
“We have been looking at potential locations and have had to curtail our enthusiasm until investment is secured.”
Bennett said the company was looking to open up to 12 more Ed’s over the next three years with a focus on shopping centres and areas outside London where rents are typically cheaper. However, he said the company wouldn’t rule out a return to the Kings Road in Chelsea.
“From an emotive perspective, we would love to be back on the Kings Road where we always had – and still have – a very loyal following of customers,” he said.
