Russian Goodman steakhouse to open in Mayfair
The Mayfair branch of Goodman steakhouse will be the first outlet to open outside of Russia

Mayfair is to witness the first opening of the Goodman Steakhouse outside of Russia when it opens in Maddox Street at the end of November.

Inspired and named after Russian Jewish jazz legend Benny, Goodman will transform the site previously known as Jamie’s Bar into an ‘elegant, yet relaxed space’ with seating for 130 covers, including a private dining room.

Having championed the perfect steak in Moscow since 2003, the restaurant will be the first in the UK to have an onsite dry ageing room, where cuts will be matured for up to 40 days for maximum tenderness.

Goodman will then endeavour to cook each carefully selected cut to perfection on a specially imported charcoal grill to an exact internal temperature in the giant 2,000 square foot state-of-the-art kitchen.

Head Chef John Cadieux who has previously occupied the Monk’s Grill and Bar in Whistler, British Columbia, has created an all-day menu with a range of steak alternatives, such as Label Anglais chicken with lemon and thyme, and organic salmon carpaccio with tomato seeds and passion fruit.

A wine menu consisting of 80 varieties with a strong focus on robust reds will also be available.
