Glaswegian brewery WEST launched a new premium bottled lager made according to the German Purity Law, which is available for off-site sale.
Named after patron saint of Glasgow, St. Mungo’s lager is the first made by WEST for sale off-site, and has been given a bold and contemporary brand identity to help launch it.
Available in 330ml bottles, the 4.9abv light golden lager is described by WEST Managing Director Petra Wetzel as ‘pure heavenly’. “WEST has always attracted people looking for something a bit different from the mainstream,” she said. “The distinctive identity of the St. Mungo bottle and labelling very much reflects the taste, attitude and accent on style and quality that typifies our expanding customer base.”
The first batch of St. Mungo is limited at 10,000 bottles, and with orders from off licences, corner shops and even the Malmaison Hotel Group, demand for the lager is thought to be ‘significant’.
