Martin Wishart to open in Loch Lomond
The Michelin starred chef is set to open a second restaurant in the west of Scotland, back at his old stomping ground, Cameron House

Scotland’s Michelin starred chef Martin Wishart will next month open his latest venture at Cameron House on Loch Lomond, following a long-lasting relationship with the hotel.

Wishart’s association with the De Vere hotel spans back as far as its opening in 1991, when he worked as Chef de Partie. Now with two other businesses (his eponymous restaurant and cookery school in Edinburgh), the chef has returned to the west of Scotland to expand his brand.

Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond will provide seating for 40-covers, and is being designed once again by Ian Smith in accordance with his other properties. Chef Stewart Boyles and Sous Chef John Rivere have been taken from Restaurant Martin Wishart to oversee the kitchen, while Steven Strachan and Gavin Ross will run front of house.

Wishart said: “I’m excited to be able to have a restaurant in the west. I’ve had opportunities to expand my business in the past, but the timing or details just haven’t been right. This partnership with Cameron House has come at the right time for me and my business, and obviously I have a great affinity to the property.”

Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond is due to open December 5 and is the chef’s third business, following the opening of his eponymous restaurant in Port Leith in 1999 and nearby Cook School in 2007. Wishart is currently in talks with Cameron House about opening a second Cook School at the hotel in the future.
