Liverpool will be home to three Hilton hotels by next year after the group signed a franchise agreement with Peel Holdings to open a site at the city`s John Lennon airport.
The 160-bedroom hotel will open this summer under the Hampton by Hilton name, the group`s economy brand, following the opening of Hilton Liverpool in April and before the planned opening of Hampton by Hilton Liverpool City in 2010.
Simon Vincent, area president of Hilton Europe said: "We have some of the strongest hotel brands in the world and, combined with the scheduled opening of Hilton Liverpool next year and another Hampton by Hilton the year after, we are seeking to showcase ourselves in a growing city with a bright future.
"We look forward to welcoming Peel into the Hilton family and with such strong partners remain on track to achieving our aim of doubling our UK estate over the next five years."
Peel Holdings director Peter de la Perelle said he hoped the agreement would be the `first of many` with Hilton as the company looked to grow its hotel estate.
