Searcys 1847 has ended its relationship with Mercedes-Benz World (MBW) in Surrey where it runs a public restaurant and cafe.
Duncan Ackery (pictured), chief executive of the catering company said the decision had been taken because of “MBW’s desire to shift the contract away from a management fee to a commercial business.”
Searcys 1847 has run the Gullwing Restaurant and Cafe 1886, which both overlook the race circuit at Weybridge, since 2006. Its contract will end at the circuit at the end of this month.
Ackery said: “We have enjoyed building the business with MBW but have to take a prudent approach to our planning in the current climate. As such, we have chosen not to progress the existing partnership with MBW. We wish them well in the next phase of their business”.
