Dieter Muller leaves Andaman at St. James’s
Dieter Muller, the three Michelin starred chef from Germany has left his eponymous Andaman restaurant at the St. James’s hotel in London, taking his name with him

Michelin starred chef Dieter Muller has left his eponymous Andaman restaurant at St. James’s Hotel and Club in London, taking his name with him, BigHospitality can reveal.

Having overseen the launch of Andaman in August 2008, Muller has decided to leave the kitchen in the hands of his prot?g?e, Philipp Vogel, while he returns to Germany to look after his eponymous three Michelin-starred restaurant at Schlosshotel Lerbach near Cologne, which he has had for over 10 years.

A spokesperson for Andaman said Muller had left to ‘concentrate 100 per cent of his time at Schlosshotel Lurbach’, leaving Vogel to ‘introduce his new menus for the New Year.’

Vogel, who has garnered some invaluable culinary experience from working alongside Muller, will introduce some ‘contemporary’ additions to the menu at Andaman, while remaining loyal to the restaurant’s signature fusion of Mediterranean and Asian flavours.

Andaman by Dieter Muller was launched upon St. James’s refurbishment last year, with Vogel and Christian Rosse heading up the kitchen.
