Travelodge aims to double business trade
The budget hotel chain aims to double the number of business travellers staying at its hotels this year with the launch of a business account card

Travelodge is aiming to double the number of business travellers staying at its hotels this year by launching its first Business Account Card.

Guy Parsons, Travelodge`s UK managing director said the card was being launched in response to the company`s increasing requests from corporate customers who were looking to switch from mid-market hotels to the budget sector as their own budgets get squeezed.

He said: "We have been inundated by requests from firms looking to start booking with us and the Travelodge Business Account Card is our way of making it easier for companies to do so.”

The card, which officially launches tomorrow, will give business guests eight weeks` worth of credit. Each card can be used to pay for rooms as well as buy food and drinks in Travelodge`s bars and cafes.

“The Business Account Card will make the process of booking Travelodge rooms even easier for corporate customers. With the online account management system enabling real time access to the statements of all who have been issued cards by the company, it will also allow business to exercise tighter control over their travel expenses,” said Parsons.
