Alan Yau opens second Cha Cha Moon
The second branch of Cha Cha Moon, restaurateur Alan Yau`s `fast and casual` Chinese noodle bar has opened in London shopping centre Whiteleys.
The latest branch opened its doors to the public yesterday and will serve the same affordable dishes, such as Szechuan Chicken Yi Mian, as Yau`s flagship branch in Ganton Street, London.
Tokyo based architect Kengo Kuma was commissioned to design the restaurant at Whiteleys. It features long bamboo communal tables, steel benches and a kitchen behind a glass wall.
When he first spoke out about the concept for Cha Cha Moon in 2006, Yau said he wanted to `return to the Wagamama market`, the restaurant chain he founded in 1992 and sold six years later.
