Kudos gives student chefs work experience
Contract caterer Kudos Hospitality creates 20 placements at nine of its London venues for student chefs to get a taste of life in a real kitchen

Contract caterer Kudos Hospitality and Westminster Kingsway College have joined forces to give student chefs on-the-job training.

Twenty first year students will be given the chance to work for a week at one of the nine venues in London where Kudos holds the contracts for hospitality.

The programme has been created by Kudos Hospitality executive head chef Larry Serra and James Lui of Westminster Kingsway College to help give NVQ students the chance to experience a real kitchen.

Serra said: "It’s really important for students to see how it works in the real world and this will give them their first taste of life in a kitchen. It’s also important for us as contract caterers to be able to excite new students and put something back into the industry so that they are better prepared when they leave."

Students will work at a range of venues including Tottenham Football Club and Central Halls Westminster from May 25 to June 1. Kudos said it would look at introducing the initiative on a permanent basis if it is successful.
