The President of the Federation of Chefs Scotland, Joe Queen (pictured right), has joined Thistle Hotels as executive chef, as part of the group’s ongoing £100m investment programme to refurbish and rebrand it’s portfolio.
Queen joins the group from the same position at Craigendarroch on Royal Deeside, and will be responsible for developing and implementing Thistle’s new food standards and policies.

Meanwhile, Unilever Foodsolutions has appointed its previous chairman of Unilever Central Europe as managing director of its UK division.
Having been with the foodservice group for 17 years, Tracey Rogers will now oversee the UK senior team after Simon Marshall’s departure to North America.
Choice Hotels Europe has also made appointments within its franchise development team, with the addition of Andrew Horder as franchise development manager for Choice’s UK portfolio.
Horder joins from a directorial position at Savills Commercial, and will be responsible for growing third party franchise agreements with independent hotels and hotel groups in the UK.
