The Edinburgh hotel, situated on the corner of George IV Bridge and the Royal Mile, is the first of 30 planned to be rolled out in the next 10 years under the new brand.
Spearheaded by Missoni creative director Rosita Missoni and Rezidor executive vice president of brands Gordon McKinnon, the new brand describes itself as a `distinctive blend of fashion, function, form and service` and is aimed at the `design conscious traveller`.
“I firmly believe that Hotel Missoni will raise the bar compared with existing fashion boutique hotels and look forward to the day we open our doors to share Hotel Missoni with the world.” said McKinnon.
The 136-room hotel, which will open on June 8, includes the Cucina restaurant and Bar Missoni and will be managed by Carina Williamson.
A second Hotel Missoni is set to open in Kuwaitlater this year and a third is slated for 2012 in Oman. The company said it is also considering other cities in Europe, the Middle East and South America.
