John McClements sells off Barnes Ma Cuisine
South west London-based restaurateur John McClements puts one of his Ma Cuisine sites on the market following a review of his business

South west London-based restaurateur John McClements is selling off the Barnes Ma Cuisine restaurant following a strategic review of his business.

McClements, who opened his last venture - a tasting menu restaurant in Kew - at the end of last year, will remain owner of that and two other Ma Cuisine sites in Kew and Twickenham. The restaurateur also owns the Grill Room British Steakhouse in Twickenham and the Tagine restaurant in Kew.

The 45-cover Barnes Ma Cuisine, based on a 1950s French bistro, opened in July 2007 and has served lunch and dinner to local diners. Its leasehold is being sold through Christie & Co.

Steve Darbon, director at Christie & Co, said: “John’s strategic review of the group will allow him to re-direct his resources on the remaining, highly successful, operations. We are in no doubt that the Barnes restaurant will attract good interest from experienced local operators seeking to snap up a quality site in the heart of this London ‘village’ type location.”
