Aubergine announces new head chef
The London Fine Dining Group has announced Christophe Renou as the new head chef of Aubergine in Chelsea, after William Drabble’s departure last week

The London Fine Dining Group (LFDG) has announced Christophe Renou as the new head chef of Aubergine in Chelsea, just a week after William Drabble left the position to ‘pursue a new challenge.’

Previously sous-chef under Miles Nixon at Aubergine at the Compleat Angler, Renou will join Aubergine in Chelsea as head chef, working toward retaining the restaurant’s Michelin star.

The LFDG also confirmed to BigHospitality that Nixon will take over from Drabble as executive head chef of the two restaurants, while overseeing the Compleat Angler’s kitchen on a day-to-day basis.

John Cardwell, previously chef de partie at Aubergine Chelsea will become Renou’s sous chef, while Stuart Fawcett, previously chef de partie at the Compleat Angler, will become Nixon’s sous chef.

Drabble announced his departure from the Michelin-starred restaurant last week, after spending over a decade in the position he inherited from Gordon Ramsay in 1998.
