Vivat Bacchus has appointed a new restaurant manager and head sommelier for its restaurant in Farringdon.
After spending two years at Atul Kochhar’s Benares and Vatika, Bernine van Schoor (pictured right) returns to Vivat Bacchus as restaurant manager having previously spent four years at the South African restaurant.
Head sommelier Laura Ward also joins Schoor in a front of house role, having previously worked as assistant sommelier at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen London.
Gerrie Knoetze, proprietor of Vivat Bacchus, said: “Bernine and Laura are a breath of fresh air for our City clients. Both have worked at the highest levels in the industry, and have extensive knowledge of the food and wine that is at the heart of Vivat Bacchus.”
The appointments replace former restaurant manager and head sommelier Calvin O`Keefe, who after only six months in the position left the restaurant `for personal reasons`.
