The Grand Union Group is to open its ninth pub at the end of this year after acquiring a property in Kilburn, North London from Young’s for an undisclosed amount.
Having doubled in size over the past six months to six branded venues, The Grand Union Group are also planning the opening of a tenth site in central London at the end of the year.
Managing Director Adam Marshall, said: “We are certainly not recession proof, but have maintained a healthy pre-tax profit for the first two quarters of 2009. We are bucking the trend in the pub market and are looking for new sites in key locations in the Capital to realise our expansion objectives for 2010.”
The group plans to open five pubs in the Home Counties over the next two years and six London Bar-Grill venues in Greater London by 2013. The Kilburn site will open later this year following an extensive refurbishment.
