Coastal Flavours of Whitby, sponsored by the Yorkshire and Humber Seafood Group, will run from 29-30 August at Whitby’s Endeavour Wharf to celebrate the area’s fishing heritage with a food hall showcasing dozens of specialist food producers from around Whitby and Yorkshire.
Baines, currently one of the judges on ITV1’s Britain’s Best Dish, will lead a host of chefs, including Rob Green of Green’s Restaurant in Whitby, at the event’s Food Theatre Kitchen.
Carl James, project manager for Yorkshire & Humber Seafood Group, said: “The Yorkshire and Humber Seafood Group are delighted to be hosting this fantastic event for Whitby, which can boast a fishing industry that has grown from strength to strength over the years. With support from local businesses, tourist attractions, restaurants and cafes, the event is already being acknowledged as a long awaited recognition for Whitby and its fishing industry.”
The Coastal Flavours of Whitby event will run from 9am-5pm over the August bank holiday.
