Mitchells and Butlers has announced the immediate appointment of Adam Fowle as chief executive of the group.

Having joined the board of directors in 2007 as managing director for restaurants, Fowle recently took the position of pubs and bars managing director from Mike Bramley when he left the company in April this year.

Fowle has been acting chief executive of Mitchells and Butlers since the departure of Tim Clarke in May, and was permanently appointed the position after ‘an extensive search process.’

Drummond Hall, chairman of Mitchells and Butlers, said: “I have no doubt that Adam will continue to build on the excellent track record he has already developed at the Company and, drawing on his wealth of experience, will continue to drive the business's strong performance.”
