Drake and Morgan, owners of The Refinery on Southwark Street, are to launch a second venue in Canary Wharf in October.
The Parlour, a 300-cover bar/restaurant offering an all-day seasonal menu, will join a host of new hospitality operators opening at Canary Wharf in the autumn, including Roka, Jamie’s Italian, Wahaca and Canteen.
Utilising a rustic yet modern style designed by Fusion Design, The Parlour will consist of a main restaurant complete with long party tables, a cocktail lounge, wine room, mezzanine area for private events and 68-cover alfresco area leading onto Canada Square Park.
The all-day menu offers signature dishes such as fried calamari with spicy anchovy mayonnaise; chicken breast stuffed with mascarpone and wild mushrooms, wrapped in crispy pancetta with herbed potatoes and blistered cherry tomatoes, as well as sharing boards, wraps, sandwiches and burgers.
Jillian MacLean, managing director of Drake & Morgan, said: “Drake & Morgan’s philosophy is to continue to provide contemporary customer-focused bars that deliver on cutting-edge design, technology and operating systems as well as quality food and innovative drinks. It’s fantastic that we can bring the parlour to Canary Wharf, which is a vibrant and cosmopolitan area for professionals and locals alike.”
A fresh fish counter and oyster bar will also be available at The Parlour while ingredients will be sourced locally from Neal’s Yard, Allen’s of Mayfair and Borough Market.
