Restaurant operators with an interest in the paranormal are being urged to put in offers to run the Hellfire horror-themed restaurant as the current owner looks to take to the road with his hog roast hearse.

The owner of Manchester’s horror-themed restaurant The Hellfire is looking for a restaurant or nightclub operator with an interest in the paranormal to take over the leasehold of the business while he tours music festivals in his hog roast hearse.

Former Ibiza DJ Dave Butler bought the 19th Century building one mile north of the city centre three years ago and has spent £100k converting it into a unique 70-cover restaurant and bar which welcomes Goths, witches, bikers ‘and just about everyone with an interest in the dark side.’

Key features of The Hellfire include ghoulish heads hanging from the walls, mediaeval-style tables and a menu from which diners can choose dishes like Stake through the Hart, Severed Finger Platter and Death by Crumble.

Now Butler, aka Lord Dashwood, is looking for one, or a number of operators, to run the business while he takes to the road with his son to sell hog roasts from a converted hearse at music festivals next summer.

He told BigHospitality: “I’m not a restaurateur. I’ve created something that I’m proud of, but it could do with more involvement from somebody who is, or who has more experience of running a restaurant or nightclub.

"We have everything from live bands to clairvoyants performing here so it’s never dead boring, but on a more serious note it has been an amazing project and is a fantastic opportunity for an operator who wants a famous venue with real character with most of the setting up already done".

Butler is currently converting the building’s basement into a dungeon-style real-ale bar, which he says will increase the building’s capacity to 200 when completed.

Interested operators are being invited to rent individual floors of the building for offers in the region of £200 per week or the whole building for about £700 per week.

For more information about the venue visit www.thehellfire.co.uk and to register an interest in running it email Dave Butler at info@hellfireclubs or call 0161 277 9346.
