Thistle hotels has appointed its first brand manager to help deliver and protect the company's new brand identity.
Joanna Morgan's appointment comes as the company undergoes a £100m refurbishment and rebrand of its 33 UK hotels to establish them as relaxing and comfortable hotels for business and leisure guests where service is 'delivered in a warm, efficient and straightforward manner' by 2010.
Morgan, who has 15 years of experience in the hotel industry, will create a set of brand guidelines and will work alongside Thistle's central management team to develop and manage the new brand; ensuring staff in all areas of the business are clear about its new philosophy.
Thistle chief operating officer Heiko Figge said it was important for all employees to be aware of the company's new direction. "As we're now disseminating the new brand throughout our completely refurbished properties, we need to guarantee our guests benefit from our improvements and the high standards the new branding is set upon. This is achieved through the constant cooperation and involvement of all our employees," he said.
Morgan added: "Thistle's investment into its portfolio and the clear vision of the brand; what it represents and its high standards, now needs carefully monitoring. I will be ensuring that the entire group is working as one to live the new brand standards - ensuring a consistently excellent guest experience."
