Simon Parker Bowles' second Green's Restaurant & Oyster Bar opens its doors in the heart of the city today.
The restaurant, situated in the historic 14 Cornhill development, has been launched two months later than originally planned and follows a £2m redevelopment of the building which used to house Lloyds Bank's headquarters.
Breakfast, lunch and early suppers, including fresh crustacea and menus of British tiffin ‘grazing’ platters will be served in the Runner Bar while the fine dining restaurant will be open for à la carte dining, where signature dishes such as Haddock Parker Bowles with seasonal classics such as native oysters, grouse and pheasant will feature on lunch and dinner menus.
Three private dining rooms will accommodate breakfasts, lunches, tastings and dinners.
Pioneered by Bowles, Lord Daresbury and Lord Vestey, the restaurant's aim is to attract city workers and a younger crowd than that of its flagship Mayfair branch. It will focus on provenance of fine British seasonal produce and value for money.
