The Midland Hotel in Morecambe Bay, the iconic Art Deco hotel that re-opened last year, has a new manager, Matt Stanaway.
Thirty-five-year-old Stanaway, who has worked for Midland's operator English Lakes for the last four years, will be responsible for running the 44-bedroom hotel and hopes to push it forward to become one of Britain's best hotels.
He said: "I’m really excited about the challenge of ensuring that the Midland Hotel provides guests with the service and standards that its heritage and history deserves. Getting the hotel reopened and back up and running over the last year was a tremendous achievement."
Millennium & Copthorne Hotels has also appointed a new director of marketing for Europe to develop the group's corporate marketing strategy both on and off-line.
In her role Karen Sequeira, who has worked for Hilton and Norwegian cruise line Hurtigruten, will oversee M&C's corporate marketing department as well as the marketing for all hotels across the UK and Europe.
