With families expected to fork out an extra £3.1bn on their kids during the October half term, Premier Inn has announced its biggest ever room sale for the week-long holiday, slashing prices to just £29prpn.
Research conducted by the Childcare Costs Survey found that the average family of four will spend an extra £420 on keeping the kids occupied during half term, with costs including attraction entry fees and lunches.
Steve Conway, a spokesperson for Premier Inn, said the budget hotel group aimed to help parents shoulder the cost of the half term break.
“Half-term this year will be a financial struggle for many parents,” he said. “By offering a good quality short break that won’t break the bank, we’ll be doing our bit to help ensure parents are smiling nearly as much as the kids. We will make sure their stay is worth every penny.”
The family room rate will be available at over 300 UK hotels between 9 October and 1 November, and will coincide with Premier Inn’s Great Days Out scheme, which gives guests a 2 for 1 or kids go free offer at a selection of over 800 attractions.
