Bartenders and mixologists are once again being given the chance to learn all about the Caribbean’s favourite drink at the third annual Rum Experience this weekend (24-25 October).
Held at The Royal Horticultural Halls in London, The Rum Experience is the only festival dedicated to rum from all corners of the globe, and offers an opportunity for bartenders to enhance their knowledge of the drink and source new varieties.
With over 400 familiar, rare and new rums from Cuba, Barbados, Mauritius and Venezuela amongst others, visitors will be able to try and buy a new bottle to add to their bars collection.
Visitors can also find out how to best match rum with chocolate with Chantal Cody, founder of Rococo Chocolates, and Ian Burrell (pictured), founder of the Rum Experience, as well as find out all they wanted to know about rum in a series of master classes led by industry experts and master blenders.
Also taking place this year is the Battle of Trafalgar cocktail competition, where mixologists from the UK and France will compete to declare either British Navy rum or Rhum Agricole, as the ultimate spirit.
Tickets cost £20 from www.rumfest.co.uk, or £25 on the door.
