Managers appointed to Park Plaza Westminster Bridge and Thistle Glasgow hotels

Park Plaza Westminster Bridge​ has recruited Daniel Pedreschi as hotel manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the £350m hotel when it opens near London's South Bank next year.

Pedreschi, who has worked at le Meridien Piccadilly and Cafe Royal will be the main point of contact for the heads of departments at the hotel - the largest new-build to open in the capital - and will be responsible for staffing as well as overseeing front of house.

Andrew Swindells, the hotel's general manager, said: "We are overjoyed to have Daniel join our team at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge. His experience coupled with his enthusiasm for the hotel industry will make him a tremendous asset to the team."

Thistle Hotels​ has also appointed a general manager for its 300-bedroom Glasgow hotel.

Mark Gallagher, who has worked in the hospitality industry for 21 years, will ensure the group's new quality and service standards are upheld and will be responsible for attracting business and leisure guests as well as hiring 60 seasonal staff to work in the hotel's banqueting division.

He said: “I aim to draw from my experience in past roles to maintain the hotel’s position as a quality business and leisure venue in the city.”

“With 300 bedrooms, 18 meeting rooms, the recently refurbished Grand Ballroom which caters for up to 1,500 guests and a superb city centre location, I am looking forward to taking the helm of this hotel and driving it forward.”
