The Mantis Group, operator of Chelsea's Draycott Hotel and the Alladale Wilderness Lodge in Scotland, has boosted its London portfolio with the purchase of the 11-bedroom Lord Milner Hotel in Belgravia.
Named after Lord Alfred Milner, the controversial German-born British statesman and colonial administrator, the five-star hotel in Ebury Street's leasehold was sold for an undisclosed sum to Mantis last week by Christie & Co on behalf of Finistere Holdings.
Adrian Gardiner, chairman of The Mantis Group, said: "We are thrilled to have acquired the distinguished Lord Milner and we welcome it into the Mantis Group’s collection of unique properties. We look forward to welcoming both regular and new guests through the doors under the Mantis brand."
A spokesperson for The Mantis Group said there were no immediate plans to make any changes at the boutique townhouse hotel following the deal. "There is a management team in place at the hotel already and for now everything will remain as it is," she said.
As well as its UK properties, The Mantis Group operates a number of game reserves, boutique hotels and retreats throughout South Africa and Europe.
