Milk Link Foodservice has launched a new range of Bladen Lighter cheeses, which contain 30 per cent less fat than the brand’s standard cheddar.

Available in mild and mature cheddar 5kg blocks and 1kg grated cheddar and mozzarella mix, Bladen Lighter has been awarded a B grade by the Craft Guild of Chefs who tested the cheese for its cooking versatility.

Craig Dillon, Milk Link’s head of foodservice, said caterers were unable to tell the difference between fullfat and low fat cheddars in blind taste tests.

“Historically, low-fat cheese has suffered a poor reputation,” he said. “We’ve harnessed our expertise to create a low-fat product that doesn’t compromise on taste, texture or cookability.”
