Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel gets £20m refurbishment

Hotel and conference operator Principal Hayley has invested £20m in refurbishing its newest property, the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow.
The 240-bedroom hotel above Glasgow’s Central Station has been designed by Charles Leon who has ‘stripped the hotel back to its basics’.
Once completed, the Grand Central will feature 21 flexible meeting rooms for up to 600 delegates, a 500 capacity Grand Ballroom to cater for large events, and a restaurant, deli and Champagne Bar, the latter of which will overlook the station.
Principal Hayley bought The Grand Central Hotel, formerly the Central Hotel, in spring 2009. It will reopen in September.
