Providores chef crowned Spanish Young Chef of the Year 2010

Providores junior chef Selin Kiazim, one of BigHospitality's Rising Stars, is to spend 10 days training in the kitchens of El Bulli after being crowned Spanish Young Chef of the Year 2010.
Kiazim beat six other finalists to the prize by wowing judges with her menu of pan fried hake with clams a la marinera and a persimon and walnut salad; roasted Iberico pork, spiced mocilla and pumpkin croquette and a basque red bean and chorizo stew; and almond cake with sherry ice-cream, seville orange jelly and raspberry honeycomb.
The competition, organised by Foods from Spain, is designed to inspire chefs up to the age of 25 to experiment with Spanish produce.
