As part of BigHospitality's Sustainability week we visited the Lancaster London hotel to find out what managers and staff were doing to help run the business more sustainably.

The hotel, which is a member of the Considerate Hoteliers Association and a holder of the Green Tourism for London Silver award, has its own 'green team' made up of staff members who measure everything the hotel does and suggest ways of improving them to reduce carbon emissions and waste.

As general manager Stephen Kyjak-Lane says, employing sustainable practices not only reduces his business's carbon footprint, but can save money and in turn make the hotel more profitable.

Watch our exclusive video for a look behind the scenes and some top tips on how to run your hotel more sustainably.

Thanks to Real Impact Productions for the filming and production of the video.
