Wagamama are claiming to be the first restaurant chain to launch an iPhone application
Pan-Asian restaurant chain Wagamama has launched its own iPhone application, claiming to be the first restaurant chain in the UK to have done so

The application, which is available to download from the iTunes app store, allows customers to locate their nearest Wagamama branch, browse the menu before ordering, and lets them select an appropriate pick-up time.

Steve Hill, chief executive of Wagamama, who launched an online takeaway service early last year, said: “We’re proud to be the first UK restaurant chain to introduce its own iPhone app, and it’s great to be bringing the speed and quality of Wagamama’s service to the latest in consumer technology.”

Toptable application

Also launching an iPhone application this month is online restaurant reservation service Toptable, which is downloadable for free from iTunes and the App store.

The application features the newly developed augmented reality technology, allowing users to ‘see’ where nearby restaurants are, a tip calculator, and a ‘my sommelier’ wine and food matching function.
