The owners of Edinburgh's Olive Branch bistros have put their two restaurant sites on the market as they plan to move away from the city

Husband and wife team Stuart Thom and Kerry Kirk, who have spent the past seven years building up the Olive Branch business, are moving their family to another part of the UK.

Property agents Christie & Co have been instructed to sell the sites in the Broughton and Bruntsfield areas of the city either singly or as a pair.

The leasehold of the 37-cover Broughton Bistro and an adjoining book shop is being sold for £185,000 while the 70-cover restaurant in Bruntsfield is on the market for £95,000.

Barry McNeil, associate director at Christie & Co, said: “Both are flexible and prominent restaurant spaces with layouts that would suit a variety of different international cuisines. They would be an asset to any restaurateur's portfolio or to any operator wishing to expand.”
