Renaissance Pubs is to relaunch The White Hart in Lambeth as The Tommyfield, changing the gastropubs menu focus to traditional fish and chips

The 95-cover pub, which will close for refurbishment on 12 April, will reopen in May serving a Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) approved menu created by Renaissance executive chef Massimo Tebaldi, which will also be available for delivery to local offices.

Co-owner Tom Peake said the refurbishment decision was to make the pub more 'in keeping with our sister pubs and our passion for locally sourced produce'.

The White Hart was the second pub launched by Renaissance in 2005, after The Abbeville opened in Clapham in 2002. The group now operates five sites, including The Stonhouse in Clapham, The Bolingbroke in Battersea and The Avalon in Balham.
