Restaurants, hotels and pubs tell us about the extra activities they're planning to make their businesses more appealing

The hospitality industry may be about providing food, drink, accommodation and service, but sometimes you have to go the extra mile to pull customers in. If you’re stuck for ideas on how to make your business more appealing take a look at what others are doing for inspiration.

Masterclasses

Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill has created three 'masterclasses' designed to provide entertainment for corporate parties and individuals - the Cocktail Masterclass, the Cupcake Decoration Masterclass and the Food & Wine Pairing Masterclass. The first two include demonstrations, a glass of Champagne on arrival and canapes while the Food & Wine Pairing Masterclass takes a look at five wines and matches them to The Montagu restaurant's most popular dishes. Each master class is priced at £65 per person.

Marathon

Three central London Park Plaza hotels - at Victoria, County Hall and on Baker Street - are giving this year's London Marathon runners the chance to relax after the race with a discounted sports massage. Runners taking their medal to the hotels' spas can claim a 20 per cent discount on selected massages.

Fondue Friday

Mikko Kataja, head chef at Avenue restaurant in St James, London, has created Fondue Fridays to celebrate the success of his fondue of British cheeses. The restaurant is serving the dish for two people with a bottle of Verdejo Somada, Bodega Torres Manur, 2008 for £30 every Friday.

Honey

After an extensive refurbishment, The Feathers Hotel in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, has reopened just in time for National Honey Week. A honey tasting menu has been designed for the event by chef Marc Hardiman and incorporates a variety of honeys including Scottish heather and New Zealand manuka in both savoury and sweet dishes. National Honey Week runs from 3-9 May.
