Michel Roux Jr and Compass Group will finally open a fine dining restaurant at Parliament Square next week, over a year since the venture was first announced

Roux Parliament Square, situated in the Grade II-listed Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) building, was first announced as a joint venture between Roux and Compass’s executive dining arm Restaurant Associates in April 2009.

Now due to open on 10 May, the 56-cover restaurant will be headed by former Roux Scholarship winner Daniel Cox, who has created a modern European menu featuring dishes such as Loin and Belly of Gloucester Old Spot, Glazed Heritage Carrots, Mustard Gnocchi, and Caramelised Apple Mille Feuille with Green Apple and Tarragon Sorbet.

Sue Thompson, business director at Restaurant Associates, said: “This is a great opportunity to reinforce our relationship with Michel Roux Jr,” she said. “The location is exceptional, and whilst we know that there is a very large customer base working and living in the area, there appears to be very little in fine dining to excite them nearby. We're creating a significant destination restaurant and bar that will create a real buzz around Westminster.”

Michelin-starred collaboration

General manager Alain Mara and restaurant manager Johan Brouckaert will oversee the restaurant’s Dining Room, Drawing Room, Library and Bar, which seats an additional 30 covers.

Roux Parliament Square is the latest in a line of Michelin-starred chef collaborations by Restaurant Associates, which include Rhodes Twenty-Four, Tom’s Kitchen and Tom’s Terrace at Somerset House, and Brasserie Roux at Sofitel Heathrow.
