De Vere Hotels and Resorts has appointed a new head of marketing, while Hilton Worldwide gets a new vice president of human resources

De Vere Hotels and Resorts has appointed Kirstie Yates as head of marketing, with responsibility for overseeing communications at the group’s 13 properties.

Yates has moved from pub company Mitchells & Butlers where she spent four years in brand development, mostly as senior marketing manager of Irish pub chain O’Neill’s.

Yates started her career at international drinks group Diageo, where she worked on the Guinness and Baileys brands before managing Smirnoff vodka.

She will report to chief operating officer Deborah Kemp, who moved to De Vere from pub company Punch Taverns last year.

Yates said: “With the rising cost of holidaying abroad, not to mention the recent disruption to air travel, we will be looking to attract more customers to our hotels which are very much part of the Great British holiday tradition.”

Hilton Worldwide

Rachid Bengougam has become vice president of human resources for Europe at Hilton Worldwide.

In his new role, Bengougam will oversee human resource strategy for more than 180 hotels, seven brands and 20,000 team members across 30 countries.

He moves from Middle East franchiser M.H. Alshaya and prior to that was human resources director for Dixons UK.
