JD Wetherspoon has completed its purchase of the former Swan Hotel in Leighton Buzzard

Fleurets disposed of the closed hotel on behalf of its owners, from an asking price of £1m.

Located in the town centre, the property includes 38 bedrooms, bar, restaurant, lounge and a basement bar.

The site will need refurbishing before launching – and it is not yet clear whether the managed house operator will continue to operate it as a hotel.

The company also recently completed on the Pheonix Hotel in Dereham, Norfolk, which has 20 bedrooms, for an undisclosed price and bought the Foley Arms Hotel in Great Malvern, Worcestershire, from Allied Investment Partners.
