The De Vere Group has appointed a former group graduate trainee as the new general manager for Mottram Hall Hotel in Cheshire.

Stephen Beech joins the hotel after completing De Vere’s graduate hospitality trainee scheme in the early 90s, working at The Grand in Brighton and Oulton Hall in Leeds. He now joins Mottram Hall from Jarvis Hotels, where he most recently oversaw an £18m refurbishment of The Piccadilly Hotel in Manchester.

Beech, who will oversee the day-to-day running of the Cheshire hotel, said: “One of the major reasons for accepting this role was the opportunity to work in a venue that promotes such a diverse and quality offering. It’s vitally important that my team and I become active ambassadors for the business in the local community, and I’m looking forward to developing and supporting all areas of the hotel.”

Hotel du Vin and Malmaison

Meanwhile, the Hotel du Vin and Malmaison Group has appointed a new sales director for Scotland and Ireland to help promote the group’s five hotels in the area.

Vicky Nesbitt joins with a vast experience of working in the hotel industry, most notably at Fairmont St. Andrews Hotel and Loch Lomond Golf Club.

Nesbitt said: “I am keen to raise the profile of the group in Scotland and increase both North American and European business. This is a tremendous opportunity for me and I look forward to applying my experience and skills to this demanding role.”
