Podium Restaurant at the London Hilton on Park Lane is offering guests a special Wimbledon-themed afternoon tea for the duration of the championships. Featuring a range of English cut sandwiches, including cucumber and cream cheese and smoked salmon and horseradish, Scones, jam and cream, Miniature Fancies served on a Chocolate Tennis Court and Cupcakes, the afternoon tea is served with a shot glass of Pimm’s number 2.
Centre Court transformation
D&D London is also celebrating the championships with a range of promotions featuring across its portfolio. As ever the Bluebird in King’s Road’s forecourt will be transformed into a giant tennis court, where a 3mx2m screen will show live matches and a special Champagne Lanson brunch will be served. Coq d’Argent will also transform into a Centre Court for Wimbledon, with two large TV screens showing the matches and a special menu featuring smoked salmon fingers and strawberries with white chocolate Chantilly cream available.
World’s longest tart
Steve Munkley, executive head chef of Park Terrace restaurant has created the world’s longest strawberry tart for Wimbledon. Measuring 8ft x 6in, the tart, which is made using British strawberries and cream on a puff pastry base, will be offered to guests from 21 June for £3 per inch. The restaurant is also serving a Wimbledon-themed afternoon tea complete with a Murray Mint Truffle and Williams Pear Mousse.
