Jamie’s Italian, the rapidly expanding restaurant chain from Jamie Oliver, has been named Brand of the Year by the British Hospitality Association (BHA) at its annual awards.
Oliver’s chain, which recently secured a Nottingham site, was commended for its successful national roll-out, which has created jobs and ‘excellent dining experiences’.
Other winners at the awards, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London yesterday, included hotel group City Inn (Innovation), restaurant group Tragus (Member of the Year) and Thistle Hotels (Tourism for All).
The Marketing Award went to Best Western and the Tourism Award to the Graves family, owners of Armathwaite Hall, a country house hotel near Keswick.
Contract caterer Aramark picked up the Sustainable Business Award.
In March Jamie’s Italian was named Best Concept at the Retailers’ Retailer of the Year Awards run by BigHospitality’s sister title M&C Report.
