Borough Market restaurant Roast’s roll-out of its British food concept is underway, with its first fast food outlet currently being fitted out at Westfield shopping centre in west London.
The Westfield branch will open in September, serving hot British food to takeaway and - providing the venture is successful - further sites are planned to be developed under the brand.
Iqbal Wahhab, who secured the site through Restaurant Property, said: “What distinguishes us from most other hot takeaway food offerings is that ours has provenance of coming from a real restaurant with real chefs.”
Roast head chef Lawrence Keogh has designed a breakfast menu to be served from 9am which includes bacon and sausage butties, with roast meat sandwiches, meat pies, salads and vegetarian sausages to be served from the afternoon until 9pm.
The restaurant will also serve the signature dish from their Borough Market takeaway stand, Roast Pork Belly with Crackling and Apple Sauce in a Bridge Roll.
The site interiors have been designed by Cada, whose client list includes Pret, Itsu and New York’s Dean and Deluca.
