Now in its second year, the Gastronomy Team of the Year is the only industry competition testing the relationship between front and back of house staff

The final, held at Westminster Kingsway College, saw five chef/ sommelier teams from restaurants and hotels across the UK prepare a two-course meal with matching wines for a panel of judges, featuring 2008 Sommelier of the Year Gearoid Devaney, and Lexington Catering chef director Rob Kirby.

Designed to demonstrate the importance of a strong working relationship between kitchen and waiting staff, the competition saw sommelier Laurent Richet and chef de partie Neil Cooper from Hotel Terravina in Hampshire crowned victorious.
