Continental style bakery and delicatessen Belgique café is to open its 11th outlet in London’s Canary Wharf.

The brand has taken a 30-year sub-lease for a riverside corner site on Westferry Circus from Prezzo, close to the Four Seasons Hotel and Gaucho Grill.

Property agent Davis Coffer Lyons (DCL) brokered the deal.

Owned by husband and wife team Igor and Ann Bekaert, Belgique opened its first outlet in 2005 and has since expanded to ten sites in the Home Counties, recently also starting to offer franchises of the brand.

The concept took on its tenth site from Gondola Group in April after the Crouch End site had been placed on the market through DCL.

Belgique offers bakery, patisserie, chocolaterie, coffeeshop, tearoom, delicatessen and celebration cakes under one roof.
